Deliverability: Introduction

This article will help you avoid spam issues.

What is deliverability?

Think of Email Deliverability like a postman's delivery rate. It’s about making sure your emails (or 'letters') land in your prospect's 'mailbox' (inbox), not in the 'trash bin' (spam folder).

Your goal: maximum letters in the mailbox!

Why is deliverability so important?

Imagine throwing a party but your invites never reach your friends - pretty lonely party, right? If your emails land in spam, your prospects miss out on your offer, affecting your business growth.

How do we measure deliverability?

Let’s imagine we sent 100 emails and 10 bounced back. So, the deliverability is (100-10)/100 = 90%. But it’s not quite this simple – some emails categorized as 'sent' might still not reach the inbox.

How to improve your deliverability?

  1. Authenticate Your Emails: SPF records and DKIM are like your emails' ID cards, proving they're legit and trustworthy.

  2. Verify your list: Ensure your email list is 'cleaned-up' - by removing wrong or old addresses.

  3. Warmup: It's like your car in the winter, you need to prime it before heading out. Warmup for at least of 2-weeks BEFORE sending cold emails (and keep warmup on forever).

  4. Choose Reliable Domains: Opt for ".com" domains. They are like reputable neighborhoods known for safety, while cheaper ones can seem suspicious.

  5. Gentle Ramp-up: Start by sending 5 campaign emails a day post-warmup, then add 3-5 more every day.

  6. Respect Limits: Just as you don’t over-fill a mailbox in a single day, keep daily campaign emails somewhere between 20-40 per day per mailbox, apart from warmups.

  7. Keep It Fresh: With Spintax and personalization, each email is unique like a new dress on every outing. This diversity ensures your emails sound human-like and not robotic.

  8. Patient Testing: Try not to judge a strategy too quickly. It's like tasting a soup – let the flavors mix and then decide if it needs more salt.

Understanding SPF & DKIM

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) are like digital visas for your emails. They communicate your trustable sender status to the email universe, leading to wider acceptance.

Check & improve the domain's reputation
